Mediterranean Epicurean Masterclass is a culinary academy based in Boston that specializes in teaching traditional Mediterranean cooking techniques through both in-person and online courses.

We offer three certificate levels (basic, intermediate, and superior) focused on classic gastronomy, regional variations, and specialized cooking methods from across the Mediterranean.

Beyond education, we provide valuable consulting services to restaurants seeking to enhance their Mediterranean offerings. For those outside of Boston, we envision future launches in major culinary hotspots such as Dallas, Nashville, Los Angeles, Seattle, and Miami in the coming years.

The Basic Cuisine Certificate introduces fundamental Mediterranean culinary techniques, covering essential skills from knife handling to preparation methods while establishing a strong foundation in kitchen safety, terminology, and core cooking principles.

 

 

Building on basic skills, the Intermediate Cuisine Certificate delves into regional Mediterranean cooking traditions and contemporary techniques, with specialized workshops in wine pairing, beekeeping, and seafood preparation taught by industry professionals.

Healthy Mediterranean Cuisine's Traditions For Youth 

The Healthy Mediterranean Cuisine's Traditions For Youth program is a transformative 120-hour initiative designed to combat youth obesity by introducing low-income families to nutritious Mediterranean cooking techniques and food traditions.

Through hands-on workshops for both parents and children, participants learn to prepare affordable, healthy meals using Mediterranean principles as an appealing alternative to fast food.

 

Traditions For Youth Program Structure

The Traditions for Youth Program is structured as a six-week, hands-on skills development and learning process through which participants prepare nutritious, healthy, and budget-friendly meals. 

 

Introduction to Mediterranean Cuisine and Basic Nutrition 

This foundational module introduces students to the Mediterranean food pyramid, essential nutritional principles, and fundamental cooking techniques that form the cornerstone of healthy Mediterranean eating patterns while establishing core kitchen skills.

Introduction to Spanish, French & Italian Cuisine
 

Students explore the distinctive regional variations of Western Mediterranean traditions, learning authentic preparation methods for signature dishes from Spain, France, and Italy while understanding how these cuisines balance flavor and nutrition through traditional ingredients and techniques.

Introduction to Greek, Egean & Cretan Cuisine
 

The program delves into the heart of Eastern Mediterranean culinary traditions with focused instruction on Greek, Aegean, and Cretan dishes known for their exceptional nutritional profiles, abundant use of olive oil, fresh vegetables, and whole grains central to the Mediterranean diet.
 

Introduction to Seafood and the Black Sea Region

Introduction to Moroccan & South Anatolian Cuisine and Project Presentation

The culminating module explores the vibrant, spice-forward traditions of North African and South Anatolian cooking while guiding students through a comprehensive final project that demonstrates their mastery of Mediterranean techniques, nutritional principles, and budget-conscious meal planning.
